You know the christening shawl I shared last week? The little one who it’s for is referred to as Gnome.

You gnome what is about to happen, cause I will keep making puns till the cows come gnome if I can get away with it!

The featured knit of this week is knit following the free pattern: The Scrappy Gnome Hat by Melody Lisa and was super quick on 9mm needles. Truth be gnome, I was so deep in the knit gnome with the christening shawl I had forgotten Engels request to sneak in a gnome hat too. So a quick knit was a win in that regard!

That, and I was desperate to knit with anything that wasn’t lace weight or white by that point!

As you can see here the gnome hat is lovingly modelled by Snorlax as he was the only thing with the correct head size on hand. Since this photo, we now have a second Snorlax – a squish mallow one! To go with my Gengar and Inklings Pikachu.

Theres not much else to say right now…there’s been a lot going on, but nothing I’m willing to share…

Oh well, perhaps I will have more to say next post! Until then, stay safe!

I know, that pun is onix-ceptable, and I’ll raichu an apology in a few s-ekans…

Ok, I’ll shut my meowth, and stop squirtle-ing around my knitting project for this post, as farfetched as that may seem!

An ultra ball! I know, all that for just this, but I won’t apologise.

So, long story ultra short, I have been knitting the pokeballs at work. I’ve also had a pretty bad eczema flair up. A few weeks ago the girl who sits next to me caught me scratching and, rather than verbally tell me off as she had been doing all week, she reached over, grabbed a pokeball, and tossed it at my head.

And thus, a meme was born at work.

Along the way she commented that was going to take an ultra ball to get me to stop itching and…it had to be done.

Not gonna lie, just today that thing has been thrown at me…but seeing it pride of place in her desk, getting petted absent mindedly, being threatened with it, others being threatened with it – worth it!

It does make me want to sit and knit all the different pokeballs now though…

And with that, I am going to go flee. There’s a very important party this weekend and there’s still things to prep and sort!

Until next post, stay safe!

I am tired. With a capital T.

Other descriptions of my current state could be bone tired, sleepy, sluggish, weary, worn out, needing to hit the hay, burning the candle at both ends…

My mother came to visit this weekend, and after a somewhat traumatic journey, she arrived as I was helping out the school fete on the teddy tombola. Fun was had, teddies where won, and off home with very giddy children. Saturday saw us at Lowther castle, where my sister Rabbie and I had hatched a surprise for our mum, my two and the nephew.

Surprised they were, and the crazy running and frolicking for 6 hours made the 2 hour there and 2 hour back drive worth while.

Sunday was spent desperately trying to get the house in order before my mum went home and suddenly it was Monday with work then family visit to the dentist…

But amidst the chaos, I was able to give nephew his belated birthday present, and right now, it suits my mood perfectly!

Snorlax , the sleeping pokemon, is his favourite pokemon. Knowing this, I couldn’t help but knit his own Snorlax hat as well as a cute little Snorlax toy! I modified Ginger Tom by Sue Stratford from her book ‘knitted Cats’ to create him, and I’m pretty pleased with the outcome!

Now, I am off to go be a Snorlax myself, until next week, stay safe!

And the chaos mentioned last weekend did indeed continue.

After the jubilee parties it was a trip up to Dundee, which Rabbie has outlined very well in her blog, but needless to say there was beaches, boats, pies, museums, adventuring, more beaches, painting and lots and lots of laughs.

It was the good kind of holiday where much fun was had by all, but also where I got to take a backseat and rest a bit. Rabbie kindly did all the driving, for which I am eternally grateful!

Now, I mentioned painting, in this case it was pottery painting and I am looking forward to the results! But there was more crafting than just that…

So long story short, I saw wool that had been hand dyed inspired by the various Eeveelutions. I was unable to get said wool, and subsequently Rabbie suggested we could do our own Eeveelution scarves… Seeing as I have a of wool, and she has a loom knitting machine…

I won’t lie, I am super happy with how they came out!

Rabbies Instagram post focuses on the classic trio – Flareon, Vaporeon and Jolteon, so I will give you just the close up of the Umbreon set we made, a classic and shiny colour way.

And with that, I bid you farewell for this week. I am knackered, in a good way, but also chipping away at all the things that have to be done when you leave the house for over a week!
